Introduction to CMMI v_1.3
This three-day course introduces systems and software engineering managers and practitioners, appraisal team members, and engineering process group (e.g., SEPG, EPG) members to ®CMMI fundamental concepts. ®CMMI models are tools that help organizations improve their ability to develop and maintain quality products and services. ®CMMI models are an integration of best practices from proven discipline-specific process improvement models.
This course fulfills a prerequisite requirement for any course requiring an official SEI Introductory ®CMMI course.
The audience of this course is: product developers and process implementers and anyone interested in learning about ®CMMI.
There are no prerequisites for this course.
The course is composed of lectures and class exercises with ample opportunity for participant questions and discussions. After attending the course, participants will be able to describe the components of ®CMMI models and their relationships, discuss the process areas in ®CMMI models, and locate relevant information in the model.

Antonio Braga is a ®CMMI Instructor authorized by SEI (Software Engineering Institute). He has more than 30 years experience in software development, project management and methodologies. He is an electronic engineering graduated by UERJ (Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro). He wrote and published many articles. He also published the book Function Point Analysis in 1995. He was certified as CFPS(Certified Function Points Specialist) by IFPUG (International Function Points Users Group) in 1997.
Braga was approved in the courses: Intermediate ®CMMI, ®CMMI Instructor Training and ®CMMI Lead Appraiser Training conducted in SEI (Pittsburgh - US). He conducted more than 80 Appraisals as ®CMMI Lead Appraiser.
